The Marauder of Lost Souls
Original Character - 2021
A demonic interloper that feeds on the souls of those lost in the void between the living and dead. I made the Marauder with the intention of competing in the costume contest at my local comic-con which presented the challenge of creating a full costume under a tight deadline of only 45 days.
The mask and hands are fabricated using both high density EVA foam as a base with hand sculpted details over the top using EVA foam clay. The robe is fabricated using several layers of different fabric and faux furs. The lantern prop is also fabricated using a combination of EVA foam, plexiglass and aluminum wire. I also wired individual LEDs to create the red pupils and glowing lantern light. I was able to finish the costume with time to spare before the contest and took home 1st Place for Best Individual Male costume.
